In my opinion, the hardest part of Chinese is not speaking or reading, it is writing. Most people are neglecting their handwriting skills in favor of keyboard proficiency and typing Chinese is a lot easier than handwriting, but Chinese calligraphy is a is part of Chinese culture and we don't want to lose it.
